Quantum Computers and the Quantum Revolution
Quantum computers are fundamentally different from classical, binary computers. They hold great promise as the next-generation computer and they will change society profoundly. The basic building block of a quantum computer is a qubit, which unlike a classical bit can be in a quantum superposition (a simultaneous combination) of both 0 and 1.
Are we on the verge of a quantum revolution? What is quantum computing exactly? Why and how will it change society? What can we compute and how can it be useful? In this talk, Professor Buhrman will give a short introduction to quantum computing.
