C.J.P. Webers
Research profile
Currently working as an assistant professor in musculoskeletal epidemiology, focusing on chronic (inflammatory and non-inflammatory) musculoskeletal disease. Specific areas of interest: perspective on health and disease, treatment goals, phenotyping, context, personal and societal consequences of disease.
Other areas of research interest: health-economic analysis, work participation outcomes, research methodology.
Research projects
Selection of current projects:
- Patient and physician perspectives on health and disease: multi-stage project (in development) in which both existing data and newly collected data are used to better understand why patients with chronic musculoskeletal diseases and their physicians can differ in their assessment of disease state (discrepancy), and whether such discrepancies have impact on patient and societal outcomes. Part of long-term research line on improving care for chronic musculoskeletal disease in daily practice.
- Several project in inflammatory musculoskeletal disorders (in particular spondyloarthritis), focusing on residual disease (definition, prevalence, associated factors, prognosis, phenotypes), discrepancies between disease activity and patient-reported health, and early remission-induction strategies
