€1.5 million for Open Science Digital Infrastructure for 3D Scholarship

On 17-18 December 2025, the Maastricht Centre for Taxation (MCT) hosted an international online conference titled “AI and the Future of Tax Law: Rethinking Compliance, Governance, and Legal Design”.

As of January 2026, Nava Tintarev, Professor of Explainable AI at Maastricht University’s Department of Advanced Computing Sciences (DACS), will join the boards of two of the Netherlands’ most prestigious computer science platforms.

The OECD launched a public consultation on "Global Mobility of Individuals" and invited input from stakeholders on the tax challenges arising from new ways of working, including remote and cross-border work. Members of the Maastricht Centre for Taxation (MCT) have contributed to the consultation.

In 2026, the Faculty of Law at Maastricht University will celebrate its 45th anniversary.
