Update #2 COVID-19

PLEASE NOTE: these updates may contain outdated information. Please read the latest information.

In connection with the outbreak and spread of the novel coronavirus, the Executive Board expects that under the current circumstances work and/or study cannot give cause to travel to China, parts of Northern Italy and other parts of the world where code ‘red’ or ‘orange’ applies. Exceptions for staff and students to travel there anyway have to be submitted for approval to the Executive Board after receiving prior consent from the faculty dean or director of the service centre. This is not required for travel to areas where code 'yellow' applies, however, due to security risks it may be wise to consider postponing your trip.

With regard to Northern Italy, this concerns the following municipalities: Codogno, Sesto Cremonese, Pizzighettone, Soresina, Sesto SG, Pieve Porto Morone, Casalpusterlengo, Castigli-one d'Adda, Fombio, Maleo, Somaglia, Bertonico, Terranova dei Passerini, Castelgerundo and San Fiorana (Lombardy region) and Vo’ Euganeo, Mira (Veneto region)

Always check the current travel advice before you depart

The recommendation for those who are already in contaminated areas is to take the necessary safety precautions. UM is monitoring the latest developments closely and will, if the situation calls for it, take measures and provide specific recommendations to students and staff who are currently staying in these areas.
