AI Prompt Library launched to support Generative AI users: try it out!

We are excited to announce the AI Prompt Library, a collection of prompt templates designed to help you effectively use generative AI tools.

Over the past year, generative AI has been a hot topic, with many opportunities to learn from experts and colleagues about its potential and applications. However, some may still feel that generative AI is a big black box, struggling to produce high-quality output or feeling overwhelmed by its endless possibilities.

To address these challenges, EDLAB has collaborated with Michalina Kaminska, a lecturer at SBE and an early adopter of AI, and with the University Library, to develop the UM Prompt Library.

What is a prompt?

A prompt is simply an instruction given to a generative AI tool to help you achieve the desired results. With the AI Prompt Library, you’ll discover that you don’t need to be an expert to make the most of generative AI.

Get started

To access the library, simply visit the Prompt Library landing page. The actual prompts are available on this page.

During our presentation on 9 October, we introduced how to create a ChatGPT account and adjust settings to ensure your data remains private (see slides 23-29). Additionally, we provided guidance on how to start prompting, which can be revisited in the presentation (slides 33-42) for those needing a step-by-step introduction.

Provide feedback

We encourage you to offer feedback on the existing prompts or suggest new ones. You can do this by sending us an email or completing a short survey. In the survey, you can reflect on the current prompts and share your preferences for future activities, such as workshops or self-paced formats.
