M.H.M. van Herwijnen

My name is Marcel van Herwijnen. 

Within the TGX department I work as a lab manager. My work is very diverse and covers many matters related to the laboratory. Think of safety, purchasing/management of equipment, guiding/introducing new employees to the lab but also everything related to many other department and UM tasks! 

My own research expertise is currently mainly RNA/miRNA-related, often with NGS work as the end point. These activities are often employed for other groups. Within the TGX department the central NGS facility within the UM is located. 

In addition, I am the manager of the VAS lab. This is a COV where all users are trained to work safely with hazardous substances within the UM.

In short, a jack of all trades, but that's what you get when you've been working for the same employer for so long!
