Joint Education Day



A joint education meeting for Law staff of UM, UHasselt and KU Leuven.  
With topical themes as inclusive education - studying with a disability and multi/ interdisciplinary teaching. An opportunity for the teaching staff of our three partner universities to make new connections and deepen existing ones. The registration deadline is May 23rd.

13.30-13.45     Welcome address by Prof. dr. Jan Smits, Dean of the UM Faculty of Law

13.45-15.00     Session 1: Inclusive education - studying with a disability; What does it mean to be a student with an (in)visible disability, chronic condition, or neurodivergence at the university? How can we make the university more inclusive and accessible for students with a disability?

  • Workshop on studying with a disability and/or chronic disease by Prof. dr. Lisa Waddington (European Disability Forum - Professor of European Disability Law, Maastricht University), Sigrid Péters and Kristie Stoelers (Maastricht University Disability Support), and a UnliMited representative (UnliMited is the network for and by students and employees with visible and/or invisible disabilities or chronical conditions at Maastricht University). 
  • Lisa, Sigrid and Kristie will inform you about the most reported disabilities, the obstacles the students face and the procedures and services of Disability Support at Maastricht University. Moreover, Sigrid and Kristie will give you concrete tips to help students with a disability in your course or classroom. The UnliMited representative presents the students’ perspective.
