Radiation Protection for medical specialists who use X-ray devices

This course is aimed at medical specialists (in training) and researchers who are going to work with X-ray devices for imaging of patients or test subjects. It is a requirement to perform these actions within the MUMC+.

Content of the course

The course consists of 20 contact hours, includes lectures, a practical sessions and an exam. Successful completion of the course results in a nationally recognized diploma. 

The participant learns about maths, radiation physics, medical imaging, biological effects of ionizing radiation and risks and legislation on ionizing radiation. The practical session focuses on using and working safely with X-ray devices.

This course is organized in Dutch. 

The course is free for internal participants (UM, MUMC+, Maastro, Maastro Proton Therapy B.V. and Brightlands Incubators Maastricht B.V.). Specific enrolment conditions apply.
