T. Schnitzler
I am an Assistant Professor for computer security at the Department of Advanced Computing Sciences at Maastricht University. As a computer scientist, I specialized in security and privacy and obtained my PhD from Ruhr University Bochum (Germany) in 2022. My main area of research is user privacy in online environments from both technical and HCI perspectives.
My work employs various methods, including both quantitative and qualitative studies to examine user behaviors, attitudes, and perception at different levels of granularity, as well as large-scale collection and evaluation of communication traces for detailed analyses of how communication can reveal information about end users. To facilitate the holistic approach of studying information exposure from multiple perspectives, I continuously engage in inter-disciplinary collaborations, for example, with researchers from psychology, wireless communication, or artificial intelligence.
My reserach has repeatedly been published at high-ranked venues in the Security & Privacy and Human Factors communities (e.g., USENIX Security, NDSS, PETS, CHI, SOUPS).
