Open applications for YUFE’s joint bachelor in Urban Sustainability Studies 2026/2027
The Young Universities for the Future of Europe (YUFE) Alliance is excited to announce that registration for the academic year 2026/2027 is now open for its innovative YUFE’s Joint Bachelor in Urban Sustainability Studies.
This three-year degree programme* tackles some of the most pressing sustainability challenges facing cities and rural areas. It prepares a new generation of leaders to drive positive change in urban sustainability across Europe. With its unique design, the programme combines hands-on learning, real-world experience, and mobility across multiple European universities, offering a truly international and practical approach to education.
How the programme works
In the first year, students build a foundation in sustainability, urban planning, data-driven decision-making, and interdisciplinary problem-solving while studying at one of the partner universities. In years two and three, they personalise their studies by choosing minors across the YUFE network, from themes such as inclusive digital tools, sustainable mobility, circular economy, or resilient urban design, and study in different European locations. The degree culminates in a dissertation project where students apply their knowledge to a real urban sustainability challenge.
Why join this programme?
The YUFE Joint Bachelor goes beyond academic learning. Students become part of a collaborative European learning community, working alongside peers, academics, and professionals from across Europe to tackle sustainability challenges.
They will:
- Build international experience and professional networks
- Develop practical, future-ready skills
- Graduate with the insight and credentials to become leaders in urban sustainability
