Katharina Schneider (K.)

I am a lecturer at Maastricht University in the Department of Advanced Computing Sciences (DACS). There, I coordinate multiple semester long Bachelor projects and am involved in teaching (e.g. Databases, LaTeX, Introduction to Computer Science at SBE). Moreover, I am a member of the program committee to further improve education at DACS.

My background lies in computer science and applied Mathematics. I did my PhD “On Agent-Based Models of Sex, Plants and Sustainability“. As a follow-up on my PhD thesis, research-wise, I am interested in agent-based models, (evolutionary) game-theoretic models, applications in plant mating, oak trees,  COVID19, pollution, and more.

Recently, I have started to investigate educational research. Here, I am interested in everything that makes education better (e.g. new teaching and learning activities or ideas on how to involve students more in their learning experience).
