A. Cratere
I am a Postdoctoral Researcher in Edge AI at Maastricht University. I received my Ph.D. in Electrical and Information Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Bari, Italy, where my research focused on FPGA-accelerated deep learning for onboard data processing in small satellite platforms.
My research vision centers on enabling efficient, low-power, and autonomous intelligent systems for next-generation space missions, with a focus on real-time onboard data analysis under strict size, weight, and power constraints, including applications in Earth observation and space situational awarness. My research interests lie in the design and deployment of deep learning models on resource-constrained hardware, including FPGA-based acceleration, hardware-software co-design, and model compression and optimization techniques to enable autonomous decision-making on board satellites.
