Dr C. Kouzinopoulos

I am an Assistant Professor of the Internet of Things and Coordinator of the Computer Systems Research Area in the Department of Advanced Computing Sciences of the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Maastricht University.

I was a Senior Researcher at the Information Technologies Institute of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas, in the group of Dr. Dimitrios Tzovaras. I was a Senior Research Fellow at the ALICE experiment of CERN, under the supervision of Dr. Peter Hristov. I earned my PhD from the University of Macedonia in Greece, under the supervision of Prof. Konstantinos Margaritis.

My research vision centers on developing sustainable, low-power, intelligent systems across high-impact societal sectors, such as digital agriculture, smart cities, space and the industry 4.0 as well as frontier scientific domains, including high-energy particle physics and gravitational wave analysis.

My research interests lie in hardware design and integration with a focus on low power consumption and miniaturization, the design, optimization and compression of algorithms based on the underlying hardware to enable intelligence at the edge, in software-hardware co-design, computer architecture, parallel and distributed computing and in GPGPU/TPU computing.
