Master Career Track
The Master Career Track (MCT) is a programme for master’s students designed to inspire and empower you to kickstart your career after graduation. After completion, you will have all the tools to start a career that suits you.
The Master Career Track consists of three interactive lectures:
- Get to know yourself
- Explore the labour market
- Enter the labour market
In addition, you can use the workbook to complete the homework assignments that will help you tailoring the programme to your personal development and recognising the consistency of the programme. After completing the three lectures, you are eligible for an Edubage, a digital certificate to acknowledge your efforts in your professional development.
All lectures are delivered in English, unless stated otherwise.
Lecture 1: Get to know yourself
Career development starts with knowing yourself. In this lecture, you will take the first step in developing your inner compass by exploring what you know about yourself right now: what you have experienced, what interests you, what gives you energy, what comes naturally to you and what matters to you.
The aim is to develop a clearer and more useful picture of yourself. By recognising patterns and connections between different aspects of yourself, you can gradually sharpen your inner compass and use it to navigate your career.
Lecture 2: Explore the labour market
In this lecture, you will explore the world of work and test what you know about yourself against the possibilities that exist in the labour market. The goal is not to find the perfect career, but to gather information, challenge assumptions and discover directions that may fit you. You will learn how to read the labour market through vacancies and career information, talk to people about their experiences, and try small steps to experience different types of work. By reflecting on what you discover, you can identify new possibilities and further develop your inner compass.
Lecture 3: Enter the labour market
During this session, you will explore techniques for assessing job opportunities to ensure they match your abilities, needs and preferences. You will also gain insights into understanding what employers expect from your application materials and receive valuable advice on writing a well-structured and appealing CV and a convincing application letter to make a strong impression. Lastly, you will discover strategies for effective job interview preparation to enhance your chances of the job position.
