Master Career Track

The Master Career Track (MCT) is a programme for master’s students designed to inspire and empower you to kickstart your career after graduation. After completion, you will have all the tools to start a career that suits you.

The Master Career Track consists of three interactive lectures:

  • Get to know yourself
  • Explore the labour market
  • Enter the labour market

In addition, you can use the workbook to complete the homework assignments that will help you tailoring the programme to your personal development and recognising the consistency of the programme. After completing the three lectures, you are eligible for an Edubage, a digital certificate to acknowledge your efforts in your professional development.

Lecture 1: Get to know yourself

What shapes my personality?
What do I enjoy doing?
What are my needs?
What brings me fulfilment?

In this lecture, you will reflect on what defines you—your qualities, interests, values, passions and hobbies—and explore your ‘dream job’ by considering your needs and wishes for the future. You’ll learn how to present these aspects to others as a first step toward the labor market. The session includes two homework assignments to apply the theory. Also, you can join the additional deep-dive workshop “Discover your competencies” if you want to explore the topic further.

Lecture 2: Explore the labour market

Where can I find job opportunities?
How do I use my network?
How can I use LinkedIn effectively?

In this lecture, you will learn how networking can support your career exploration, both online and offline, using tools like LinkedIn. You’ll also improve your job search strategies to find opportunities that fit your goals. The session includes three homework assignments and optional workshops on LinkedIn, vacancy search, and networking practice.

Enter the labour market - appealing CV

Lecture 3: Enter the labour market

How do I get in touch with an employer?
How do I write a CV/letter of application?
What should I prepare for a job interview?

In this session, you will learn how to assess job opportunities, tailor your CV and application letter, and prepare for interviews. The lecture includes three homework assignments—an introduction summary, a CV draft, and a competence exercise. There is also the opportunity to join a workshop on contract negotiations as a next step.
