Roundtable Discussion on Reflection Period
On 10 November 2025, ICGI and the Elverding Chair organised a roundtable with experts. The reason for this event was the WODC report previously written by members of the ICGI, which contained an evaluation of Dutch legislation regarding protection mechanisms against hostile takeovers (the reflection period). The roundtable took place in Amsterdam at Loyens Loeff.
Main topics for discussion during the roundtable were the Dutch stakeholder system, the protection of Dutch listed companies against takeovers in general, and the reflection period, more in particular. Introductions for discussion were provided by Rients Abma (Eumedion), Reinier Kleipool (De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, VEUO), Tom Salemink (Radboud Universiteit), Hélène Vletter-van Dort (Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam), Michiel van Esch (Robeco), Marcel Jeucken (SustFin), Bastiaan Kemp, Tom Vos, and Mieke Olaerts (ICGI).
