Certificate courses
The following catalogue of IPKM Certificate Courses is open to starting IP professionals for academic the year 2024/2025. Follow these courses to enhance or refresh your knowledge of intellectual property law, or in preparation of pursuing the full IPKM LLM, or IPKM MSc degree.
The following courses are open to contract students wishing to obtain the IPKM Certificate:
PERIOD 4 (February-April)
• Intensive Intellectual Property Institutions and Adjudication - 3 ECTS
• Intensive Intellectual Property in Asia - 3 ECTS
• Intensive Intellectual Property and Sustainability - 2 ECTS
PERIOD 5 (April-June)
• Technology Transfer and Transaction Practice - 5 ECTS
• Intensive IP Entrepreneurship and Management - 4 ECTS
• Competition Law and IP - 3 ECTS
• Intellectual Property Overlaps - 3 ECTS
• Intensive Intellectual Property in the USA - 3 ECTS
Follow one IPKM Certificate Courses and get a 5% discount on the second Certificate course, and thereafter enjoy a 12% discount on any of the following certificate courses, or indeed the alumni discount for the complete full-time of part-time IPKM LLM or MSc tuition fee.

Fee
The fee for attending a course on a contract basis is determined by the number of European Credit Transfer System (study load) of each course: € 700 - per credit (IPKM alumni -12% €616,-):
- 2 ECTS: €1400,- IPKM alumni -12% €1232,-
- 3 ECTS: €2100,- IPKM alumni -12% €1848,-
- 4 ECTS: €2800,- IPKM alumni -12% €2464,-
- 5 ECTS: €3500,- IPKM alumni -12% €3080,-
This fee is subject to change. Fees must be paid no later than one weeks before the first session.
Please note: If payment has not been received before the relevant date, you can be de-registered as a contract student and are not allowed to participate in the courses.
Admission Requirements
To enroll for any of the IPKM Certificate Courses, you need to fulfill the entry requirements for the Advanced masters IPKM (LLM/MSc).
If you are registered as a contract student, you are allowed to follow the courses agreed on. You will receive access to the Student Portal as well as access to a temporary email account and a UM card. You can also take exams and do assignments. Exam components taken as part of contract education cannot entitle the contract student to the award of a degree. For passing an exam successfully, you will receive a certificate. And finally, contract education does not entitle you to financial assistance (studiefinanciering) from the Dutch government.
