Ergonomics

Ergonomics is the science that focuses on matching tools and conditions to human characteristics that allow people to function optimally. This covers the whole field from, for example, a good office chair to an efficient work process in laboratories. Ergonomics thus makes an important contribution to the design of a workplace and work processes in order to work safely and healthy.

Workplace Survey (WPO)
A workplace survey is an examination to study the design of a monitor or production workstation, workplace and thus primarily provide an assessment of the physical strain and associated related health of that workplace for the employee.

Ergonomic ICT equipment
Some work-related complaints require additional ergonomic aids to enable you to work not only healthily, but also in accordance with the applicable requirements and guidelines. Some examples of this are:

Ergonomic mouse
Ergonomic keyboard
Laptop stand
Document holder

These accessories can prevent or resolve Complaints in the Arm, Neck, and/or Shoulder (CANS) and have the same goal: to ensure your well-being and health while you work!

If a workplace assessment (WPO) carried out by Armico shows that additional ergonomic aids are needed, these can be used on a trial basis. HSB provides a selection of various ergonomic ICT aids for this purpose. After the trial period, a decision can be made to purchase the aids, with the costs being covered by the own department. Please contact your manager before proceeding with the purchase.
