Paul Stewens (P.P.)
Paul Philipp Stewens is a PhD Researcher with the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology at Maastricht University, Faculty of Law. Under the supervision of Dr Donna Yates and Dr Agustín Parise, he studies the legal regulation of the extraction, transfer, and ownership of palaeontological objects.
He has built and disseminated his unique expertise on Law and Palaeontology in various academic and private sector capacities, among them a research stay at the Faculty of Law in 2022. His extensive and award-winning research has appeared in both science and law journals, with features in outlets like Science or The Economist. His TEDx talk titled "Your Favorite Dinosaur Might Be Stolen" has been viewed over 20,000 times.
Paul holds a Master in International Law from the Geneva Graduate Institute (Switzerland) and an undergraduate degree in International Relations from Technische Universität Dresden (Germany).
