Anna Harris and Elsje Fourie receive UM50 grant to start book club
Anna Harris and Elsje Fourie have received funding from the UM50 fund for “Reading the Hospital Together”. This is a collaboration between two FASoS projects, The UpCycled Clinic and Global Novels, Global Readers.
Anna and Elsje proposed a bilingual (Dutch and English) leesclub/book club at the local public library on the topic of hospitals. Through collective reading over the course of three gatherings, they hope to bring city residents, academics, and clinicians into new conversations together. They have a few exciting books chosen and there will be a public vote on the third over the summer. Books will be provided free from local bookstore De Tribune, and there will be free coffee from CoffeeLovers.
