C. Ugaz Heudebert
Camila Ugaz Heudebert is a lecturer in criminal (procedural) law at the Criminal Law and Criminology Department of Maastricht University. She has over six years of specialized experience as a criminal defence attorney in Lima (Peru), as well as a consultant in anti-corruption and corporate compliance at the international level.
In 2023, Camila began her master's in Forensics, Criminology & Law at Maastricht University, which she completed in 2024. During this time, she worked as a student assistant, conducting analyses on the transposition of EU legal frameworks into Dutch law for cross-border criminal cooperation, contributing to the EU-funded FACILEX project. She also participated in the university’s honors program PREMIUM, further developing her research and interdisciplinary skills.
In academia, Camila previously worked as a teaching assistant at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. In 2021, she co-authored a book on crimes against the public administration in Peru. Her upcoming book on juvenile restorative justice in Peru is set to be published in the coming months. Additionally, she has published academic articles on corporate criminal compliance, anti-corruption, whistleblowing, and the European Arrest Warrant in the Netherlands.
