Saïdjah Galo

Studium Generale | Concert

In this traditional flamenco performance, you can watch a 'cuadro flamenco’ (flamenco group of singers, guitarists and dancers) at work. The guitar-playing, the warm Spanish voice of the‘Cantaor’ and the stylish sensuality and elegance of the flamenco dancer Saidjah ‘La Zambra’combine to give a traditional, passionate performance.

A portrait of Saïdjah Galo

Saïdjah comes from a musical family. She took her first dance lessons at the age of five. When she was sixteen, she started a series of master classes in Northern Italy, in Jerez de la Frontera and in Belgium. Over a period of four years, she took lessons with renowned artists from the flamenco world. After secondary school, she went to Seville to follow her passion further, studying at the academy 'La Fundación Cristina Heeren de Arte Flamenco’ and at the ‘Estudio de Danza y Guitarra Flamenca de Eduardo Rebollar y Yolanda Lorenzo’.

You can see her wonderful flamenco dancing in Marie Jo Lafontaine’s 2008 film ‘Dance the world’.
