Tjeerd Boonstra (T.W.)
I am interested in the large-scale organisation of complex systems such as the brain. I run an electrophysiology lab where we record EEG data during different cognitive paradigms and non-invasive brain stimulation. I also collect and analyse EMG activity from multiple muscles to investigate the role of neural synchronisation in motor coordination. By combining data analysis techniques such as dynamic connectivity analysis, mode decomposition and graph theory and computational modelling, I try the identify the key principles that organise the activity of large ensembles of neurons.
