Z. Cai
Zheping Cai is a PhD candidate at the Department of Translational Genomics (TGX), Mental Health and Neuroscience Research Institute, Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences.
She obtained her Bachelor's degree in biotechnology from Minzu University of China, followed by a Master's degree in Neuroscience in Fudan University under the supervision of Professor Yunli Xie.
In November 2022, she began her PhD at Maastricht University, supported by a scholarship from Chinese Scholarship Council. Her current research focuses on CRISPR-based gene-editing therapeutics in muscle stem cells for rare, inherited muscle disorders, including LAMA2-related muscular dystrophy and myotonic dystrophy type 1.
