M.M. Dolman
I'm a real academic; it is my aim to answer questions to the best of my ability. Before I suggest a solution, I'll enquire how the problem arose. If I know that, it helps me prevent it from happening again. I look at the problem from different angles, because most of the time, there are multiple solutions. After weighing the pros and cons of each one, I'll try to convince others of the solution I think is the best. I expect the same from them; I thrive in debate. I am determined in striving to attain concrete goals, remaining sensitive to my environment. In my experience, the best solutions are achieved in an atmosphere of constructive commitment.
I am a very experienced criminal lawyer. I've gained my experience both in academia - as a researcher and a lecturer - and in practice - in the judiciary. That way I've learned that theory and practice are necessary complements: practice can't do without reflection and theory needs to be tested. That's what I am about: arriving at a solution which makes a difference in practice though analysis of the problem.
