The Global Entrepreneurship Week (GWE) presents a 4 day interactive programme, which gives students a chance to listen to and meet international speakers, ambitious entrepreneurs, change-makers, scholars and experts. GEW Maastricht is part of the world’s largest celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare.

Under the theme ''ELEVATE YOUR GAME'', GEW Maastricht is part of the world’s largest celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare.

  • Anedrea Giarrizzo – Failure, a way to success!
    Andrea Giarizzo is considered one of Top 100 Social Entrepreneurs around world, Ashoka Changemaker, Director of Kairos Society Italy, and TedX speaker, leading the best young entrepreneurs under 25. He is the founder of the most downloaded app in 2012 in the world - YouTube Downloader, founder of Startup Super School, an acceleration programme which takes the entrepreneurship, startup and failure culture to schools and universities to give young people the desire to create a startup starting from a simple idea. He was nominated as the “Youngest Innovator of Italy” in 2015.
     
  • Eline Leijten
    Eline Leijten is founder of Plugify, and proud winner of TEDxAmsterdamWomen Startup Award 2016. Plugify is an online platform for watching, listening and booking live music. Whether it’s bands or DJs, ensembles or solo-artists, Plugify simplifies the process of booking entertainment for people and offers artists the platform they deserve.
     
  • Marvin Metzke
    Founder CrispyWallet, Founder and CEO Simplecase.
     
  • Corina Kuiper
    Corina Kuiper is founder at The Innovation Family, Board member Corporate Venturing Network, Author book Corporate Venturing. Over the past 24 years Corina has covered a broad spectrum of Strategic, Innovation and Financial management positions with a strong link to Corporate Venturing / New Business Creation and Mergers & Acquisitions, including Post Merger Integration. She also had the opportunity to lead and participate in many (large) transformation projects. The Innovation Family supports innovation in the broadest sense, so both the expansion of the existing business as well as the creation of new business. Corine is also Director and Board member of Corporate Venturing Network - a successful network of corporations active in corporate venturing and open innovation.

Wednesday 15 November
Workshop: Becoming an entrepreneur from just an idea - by Andrea Giarrizzo
This workshop provides an introduction to the experience of being an entrepreneur. It’s grounded on the course from a simple idea to a business idea. Upon its completion, you should be able to recognize the fundamental features of the entrepreneurial mindset, behaviors and skills, and understand the central role of creativity and observation in identifying and developing entrepreneurial opportunities either as standalone businesses or social enterprises.

Meet 30+ innovative startups from Maastricht & Limburg that will showcase their early stage prototypes, products and services during a market-like event. Meet startups in the following fields: blockchain, health, slow food, marketing, biotech, 3D printing, app development, horticulture, real estate, sustainable clothing, coaching, investment, and finance among others. At the end of the programme we will be inviting a speaker on the stage to pitch their business idea and surprise you with their latest innovations in the field of design engineering and robotics.
