Invitation Book Presentation: The Meuse in Limburg. A Historical River Landscape in Motion.
On the afternoon of Friday, April 4, we will present "The Meuse in Limburg. A Historical River Landscape in Motion," a versatile collection about the long and dynamic history of the Meuse Valley.
Like the river itself, this book meanders through time, from the last ice age to the present. In various chapters, physical geographers, archaeologists, historians, landscape designers, and heritage specialists highlight the Meuse from their perspectives. Together, they offer a rich and accessible view of the river and its interaction with the people who lived along it. This book contributes to the conversation about how we want to deal with the Meuse in the future.
During the presentation, the editors, Pieter Caljé and Nico Randeraad, will discuss the creation of this multidisciplinary project. Subsequently, Reg van Loo (chairman of the Maaslandse Monografieën) will engage in a conversation with a panel of experts from various societal domains about the relevance and applicability of the knowledge provided in the book.
Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to chat over drinks.
We hope to welcome you there!
