Internationally renowned photographer Nan Goldin enters into battle with the rich American Sackler family. Goldin holds the Sacklers responsible for the devastating opiate crisis in the United States, where millions of people are addicted to extremely strong painkillers like Oxycontin. Despite the fact that this crisis is producing new victims every day and is barely curbed, the Sackler family remains a big sponsor of museums all over the world. Goldin shows that art can be a weapon and tries to make her protest heard in precisely these museum spaces. Unique recordings, personal interviews and Goldin’s ground breaking photography create a multifaceted portrait of a passionate person fighting for justice: a battle that also helps her to give a place to her own sorrow.
