Dr Petra Hurks (P.P.M.)

Hurks’ main research focus is on: 

(a) inter-individual variability in cognitive development within a lifespan perspective, 

(b) identifying early markers of cognitive disorders (e.g., ADHD, dyscalculia), 

(c) development and evaluation of cognitive behavioural and educational interventions to optimize health care programs targeted of these patients as well as in healthy individuals (e.g., preschool aged children), and 

(d) psychometric properties of cognitive assessment tools.

 

She is also the author of the Dutch Wechsler Intelligence scale for preschool and primary school aged children (WPPSI-NL 3rd Edition, Hendriksen & Hurks, 2009; 2010). The WPPSI-III is now a ‘golden-standard’ instrument for assigning young children to Dutch specialized care.
