Dr Wolfgang Giernalczyk (W.)
Wolfgang Giernalczyk Interim Director at University College Maastricht (UCM). Next to his managerial tasks, Wolfgang also acts as an academic advisor, lecturer and researcher at the College. As an advisor he coaches students and assists them in creating a coherent curriculum within UCM’s open curriculum structure. As a lecturer, his primary tasks consist of coordinating and teaching a course on argumentation and logic. Wolfgang also regularly teaches in other courses, such as the UCM Think Tank project and courses related to international relations. In the summer of 2015 he was DAAD visiting fellow at University College Freiburg, teaching the course ‘Argumentation and Critical Reasoning’. As a researcher he has developed a keen interest in international political economy, with a particular focus on the analysis of intergovernmental economic organizations. In line with this, Wolfgang is a fellow of the Institute of Globalization and International Regulation (IGIR) at Maastricht University and wrote his PhD dissertation on the institutional development of the multilateral trade regime.
