Stephan Rammeloo
Stephan Rammeloo (1960) is Associate professor in (European) Company Law, Private International Law, including cross-border commercial litigation and arbitration and Comparative Law at Maastricht University.
He took his Masters degree at the Katholieke Universiteit (currently Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen), was PhD researcher/lecturer at Groningen University and researcher at the T.M.C. Asser Institute of European and International Law in The Hague. He furthermore conducted research at the Max Planck Institut für Ausländisches und Internationales Privat- und Wirtschaftsrecht in Hamburg, Germany[1].
He was lecturer of Private International Law in Grotius Academie Netherlands (post-graduate curriculum for legal practitioners). He was flying-staff professor at China European Union Law School (CESL), CUPL Beiijng, China. As a member of the Ius Commune Research School he is involved in cross-border research in EU Commission’s Company Law Actions Plans (cf. ‘Corporations in Private International Law. A European Perspective’, OUP Oxford, 2001). Furthermore, he was reporter for inter alia the Dutch Association of Commercial Law (Vereeniging Handelsrecht), as well as national reporter for the Académie Internationale de Droit Comparé, and participated in versatile international lecture programmes and Summer Law school programs on European Company Law and Private International Law.
