High School Summer College

De Maastricht High School Summer College introduceert in één week het 'Probleemgestuurd onderwijs' en de inhoud van de opleidingen van de Universiteit Maastricht.

De tekst hieronder is alleen beschikbaar in het Engels.

Themes like war, war crimes and refugees are, unfortunately, not something from history. In this summer college, we will study the presence of the past, and more specifically, but not exclusively World War II, to understand and address these themes within the light of today.

More specifically, we will use different scientific approaches and perspectives to study often war and war-related issues, like refugees, racism, populism, crime and poverty, using current insights from sociology, economics, politics, genetics, psychology and law. You will learn about scientific research and how to design, perform and report a small research project.

You can choose a research project from three topics, either involving psychology, genetics or data science. At the last meeting, when you receive your certificate, you will present the results of your project.
