Bee & Balcony Workshop: How to Support the Bees from your own Home!
Did you know that you can make a real difference to wildlife? The Netherlands has more than 350 species of solitary bees and bumblebees. Half of these are on the Dutch “red” list of endangered species. By simply placing the right type of plants on your windowsill, balcony or in your garden you can help our solitary bees and bumblebees to survive. Want to know more? Join our workshop Bee & Balcony.
The workshop will take place on Friday, April 22nd, from 2:30 to 3:30 PM at the Sustainability Hub (Tapijn A)
The first part of the workshop will introduce you to the wonderful world of solitary bees and bumblebees, the causes for their decline and some simple measures you can take to become a bee conservationist. During the second part of the workshop things will get dirty. You will actually plant up a container or sow seeds to take home with you and make your balcony or garden a better place for wild life.
What to bring:
- Pen and paper.
- A pair of gloves.
- A carrier bag, crate or similar to carry your plants home.
