- 20201106_kcis_infosheet_short_stays.pdf (107.75 kB, PDF)… For stays of up to 90 days, this entry visa is called a short-stay or Schengen Visa. Please contact the Dutch embassy or consulate-general in your home country or country of residence for more information on visas. KCIS does not offer assistance with this. Short stays in the Schengen area A short-stay/tourist visa for the Netherlands gives you access to the Schengen area for a maximum of 90 days within a period of 180 days (roughly 6 months). Even if you don’t need a short-stay/tourist visa to … you may not be admitted. The time between a new entry after you have stayed in the Schengen area for 90 days is now 180 days. • The European Commission has created a tool which helps you calculate your short stays according to this new method. You can use the ‘short-stay calculator’ to calculate the period you are allowed to stay in the Schengen area under the new rules. Work permit In some cases, your Dutch employer or host institution will need to apply for a work permit to employ you. For a … one. KCIS will inform you about the procedure and apply for the work permit if required, after receiving the necessary information from you. Dutch Citizen Service Number (BSN) For those who cannot be registered in their Dutch city of residence because they do not reside in the Netherlands or whose residence is too short, a citizen service number (BSN) can only be provided by specially appointed municipalities in the Netherlands. The nearest to Maastricht is the municipality of Heerlen. If …

- EN Work instruction 6 Decentralized administration in the context of the GMO Decree and Regulation.pdf (133.7 kB, PDF)… workspace. Its aim is: • To satisfy the GMO Decree and Regulation, Environmental Management 2013 of the IenW • To help comprehend the risks that may occur in the event of an incident or emergency • To match common procedures in the laboratory (e.g. within the context of Good Laboratory Practices) Procedure Registration is carried out at two levels: 1. Area: procedures and authorization for employees by ABV 2. Project: day-to-day activities and storage by VM/OL and project employees 1. The ABV … Internal guidelines, procedures, work instructions (from the biological safety website and protocols created by the department and approved by the BSO) • The names of VM/OLs, employees, and students permitted access to the room, the containment level they are permitted to and the IG numbers on which they are working • A copy of the GMO permit(s) under which the work in the room is being carried out. For notifications, a reference to the IG no. is sufficient. The actual substantive administration is the responsibility of the BSO. • Incidents and how they are handled. • The ABV will also supply a form that can be used to register day-to-day activities with the GMO number, host, vector, insert, and origin of the insert as well as the activity carried out. • The tasks and responsibilities of the ABV are outlined in the appointment letter. 2. The VM/OL is …
- csc_proposal_unveiling_hidden_innovation_in_emerging_economies_20220926.pdf (648.24 kB, PDF)… (SBE), Maastricht University The research proposal This project will develop novel data extraction and analysis methods to examine firm-level innovation capabilities in emerging economies. Firm-level innovation capabilities are typically examined with the use of survey methods or patent indicators. Both methods have important limitations. It is well known that patenting activities are low in most parts of the Global South as compared to OECD countries, and hence they are of limited value in innovation studies concerned with the global south. Furthermore, patents work as indicators of science and technology innovation (STI) but do not capture dynamics in sectors where doing, using and interacting (DUI) is the dominant mode of learning and innovation (Jensen et al., 2007). Innovation surveys can be devised for data collection, but they are highly costly. Studies have identified effective Indicators on firm level innovation activities from web scraped data in the European Union (Ashouri et al., 2022). This study will develop web-scraping …
- 2022fse_csc_mathias_staudigl.pdf (170.71 kB, PDF)… inverse problems, and variational regularization in mathematical imaging. The optimization method in action in all these different application domains is the general mathematical programming technique called bilevel optimization. Bilevel optimization can be seen as a leader- follower game, in which the leader solves an upper-level problem, fixing the hyperparameters, and a follower optimizes a lower-level problem, usually corresponding to a data fidelity function, for a given choice of parameters … Objectives: The aim of this project is to revisit optimal parameter tuning in variational regularization problems arising in computational imaging and deep learning. Our aim is to couple variance reduction algorithms in the lower-level problem, with derivative-free methods in the upper-level.This algorithm will be tested in medical imaging applications. Methods: This project will improve upon the state-of-the-art by introducing variance reduction strategies, that are already prominent in … imaging and signal processing. The combination of variance reduction, optimal parameter tuning and bilevel optimization is new to the field, and will become a significant contribution to the community. Requirements candidate: Highly motivated student with good English communication skills and proactive and resolute attitude. Excellent analytic and programming skills are also needed. Keywords: Imaging, Variational Regularization, Stochastic Optimization, Variance Reduction Top 5 relevant selected …

FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THE PROJECT RESULTS: www.inprofood.eu | info@inprofood.eu | klaus.hadwiger@uni-hohenheim.de | wilawien@wilawien.ac.at@inprofood Designed as stakeholder engagement activities, 35 European Awareness Scenario Workshops (EASWs) on sustainable research programming were conducted in three series in 13 dierent countries (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Turkey, and the United Kingdom). They brought together dierent stakeholders (from public organisations, civil society, and the business sector) to establish a mutual learning environment and to generate shared visions of socially acceptable, trustworthy, and transparent conditions … some partners. Personal invitations and follow-up calls have shown to be very valuable and almost mandatory to attract participants. Open Calls for Participation have been perceived as much less labor-intensive but may not attract enough stakeholders without a large (and costly) advertising campaign. Non-arbitrary selection might lead to the non-attendance of certain stakeholder organisations which may be expected to attend. Implementation procedures - Careful documentation should be ensured in …
