Door de lange duur van het onderzoek hebben we een unieke kans om de invloed te bestuderen van risicofactoren in de vroege jeugd op de groei en ontwikkeling en het ontstaan van ziekte op latere leeftijd. Het onderzoek heeft al meer dan 100 wetenschappelijke publicaties voortgebracht, en de resultaten spelen een rol bij het opstellen van richtlijnen, bijvoorbeeld voor goede voeding van moeder en kind. On May 9th, the NWO awarded €2.7 million to improve the Advanced Virgo gravity wave detector in Pisa. Maastricht University will take part in this initiative, which will be led by the Dutch National Institute for Subatomic Physics (Nikhef).
