A.C. Breuer
Almut Breuer is an assistant professor at the Department of Tax Law, where she teaches and conducts research in European and procedural tax law, as well as in fiscal ethics. She studied law at Cologne University (Germany) and obtained an advanced Master’s degree in European and International Taxation from the European Tax College (KU Leuven / Tilburg University) and a Master’s degree in Dutch tax law from the University of Amsterdam. She earned her PhD with a thesis in the field of international tax law at Cologne University in 2013.
Almut works at the Department of Tax Law of Maastricht University since 2022. She is involved in research and teaching in the field of European and procedural tax law as well as fiscal ethics, both in the Dutch Tax Law Bachelor programme and in the International and European Tax Law Master programme. She also coaches the student teams of Maastricht University participating in the International and European Tax Moot Court at KU Leuven.
Next to her academic work, Almut works as a registered tax lawyer and specialises in tax litigation.
