Onderzoek met proefpersonen is bijvoorbeeld stilgelegd en daarnaast ervaren nagenoeg alle onderzoekers knelpunten door extra (online) onderwijs taken, zorgtaken en beperkte (thuiswerk)faciliteiten. In het bijzonder promovendi en postdocs (onderzoekers met tijdelijke contracten) komen hierdoor in de problemen. De Universiteit Maastricht heeft daarom een plan ontwikkeld met mogelijke oplossingen. Hierbij zijn betrokken het College van Bestuur, Managementteam, Onderzoeksplatform (vice- decanen onderzoek), het PhD-Platform, de Maastricht Young Academy en de commissie onderzoek van Erkennen & Waarderen.
