Clara Weinhardt wint Young Scholar Award
Assistant professor Clara Weinhardt has won the Anthony Deos Young Scholar Award of the Diplomatic Studies Section at this year’s (virtual) International Studies Association annual convention for her work on trade negotiations.
The International Studies Association is one of the oldest interdisciplinary associations dedicated to understanding international, transnational and global affairs. Founded in 1959, its more than 7,000 members span the globe – comprising academics, practitioners, policy experts, private sector workers and independent researchers, among others. The Association has long served as a central hub for the exchange of ideas and for networking and programmatic initiatives among those involved in the study, teaching and practice of International Studies.
The purposes of the Diplomatic Studies Section are to promote the exchange of ideas among diplomaticists across both disciplinary and international boundaries; to build a feeling of scholarly community and create a lobby in favor of diplomatic studies; to facilitate networking among students of diplomacy and hence cooperation on joint projects; and to strengthen research and teaching in the field and attract talented new scholars to it.
