Dr Nicole Kornet (N.)
Dr Nicole Kornet is a Senior Lecturer in Commercial Law at Maastricht University.
She is a graduate of the the University of Otago, New Zealand (BA LL.B. (Hons)) and Maastricht University (LL.M.). She successfully defended her doctoral dissertation entitled ‘Contract Interpretation and Gap Filling: Comparative and Theoretical Perspectives’ (Intersentia, 2006) in September 2006.
Nicole is responsible for the master course on International Commercial Law and bachelor course Comparative Contract Law. She also teaches in the master course International Commercial Dispute Resolution.
Nicole is the Programme Coordinator of the European Law School bachelor programme and the Maastricht University Law College, the law faculty's honours programme for bachelor students, as well as the law faculty coordinator of the Maastricht Research Based Learning (MaRBLe) programme.
Apart from her teaching and coordinating activities, Nicole's primary focus is on education development and innovation in legal education. In the context of the Maastricht University Law College, she works on establishing a competence-based curriculum as well as creating a personal development and student leadership programme.
