Gaia Zoboli (G.)

Gaia Zoboli is a PhD candidate and Lecturer in the Department of International Law at Maastricht University. Her doctoral research explores the legal implications of considering unilateral sectoral sanctions as a form of economic warfare under international law, framing these measures within jus ad bellum, jus in bello, and their normative intersection. 

Gaia holds an LL.B. in Comparative, European and International Legal Studies  from the University of Trento (cum laude) and an LL.M. in Public International Law with a specialisation in Conflict & Security from Utrecht University (cum laude). During her studies, she completed two Erasmus+ study periods at the National University of Ireland Maynooth and Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Prior to joining Maastricht University, Gaia worked as an intern at the T.M.C. Asser Instituut.
