LET’S TALK about Drug (Ab)use

How thin is the line between use and abuse?

When you ask somebody what comes up in their minds when thinking of the Netherlands, the answer is often tulips, Amsterdam and drugs. So when a substance becomes one of the attractions of a country, it is important to educate the people living in it, including the international students that have moved here, about its effects. You need to know what is out there, what is safe or not safe and who to trust. It is important to learn how thin the line between use and abuse is and how you can differentiate the margins of those two terms. Especially when you are under pressure, ideologies become blurry and your wants become greater than your needs.

If you would like to know a bit more about the ‘bad stuff’, what happens in the brain and body and about addiction, join us and let's talk about it. We have two presentations, three experts in a panel and an interactive set-up where you can ask your questions or share your experiences and opinion.

LET’S TALK is a programme in which we not only give the floor to experts, but also challenge the audience to speak up and interact. This programme was originally planned as a live event. Due to new measures to fight corona, we had to move it online. Same time, same set-up, with interaction.

In cooperation with FHML Honours Students.
