Pedro Hernández Serrano (P.V.)

Pedro is currently the Coordinator of Data Stewardship Services at Maastricht University. In this role, he coordinates research data management support, contributes to institutional policy development, and advises on legal and regulatory aspects of research data and software, including GDPR, ethics, and FAIR practices.

Pedro works at the intersection of law, policy, and data science. 
In 2024, he obtained certification as a Data Protection Officer (DPO).
From 2019, he has been a Research Software Developer at the Maastricht University Law & Tech Lab. Since 2020, he has served as Data Architect for the European Trade Union Institute. In 2022, he received a fellowship from the Netherlands eScience Center to work on FAIR software practices.

He has contributed to interdisciplinary research and teaching, including lecturing on data science for law, computational methods for policy research, and data protection. His research interests include data governance, legal informatics, and computational policy analysis.
