Hoe reguleert Brussel wat Europeanen eten, en hoeveel inspraak hebben burgers in wat er op hun bord belandt? Het Europese landschap van voedselveiligheid is complex en roept juridische, wetenschappelijke en maatschappelijke discussies op over risicoregulering en consumentenvertrouwen. Samen met toezichthouders, voedingsexperts en vertegenwoordigers van het maatschappelijk middenveld onderzoekt Studio Europa Maastricht hoe het dieet van Europese burgers wordt gevormd door wetenschap, beleid en technologische innovatie.

This event marks the launch of a new series of dossiers on EU agencies, explaining their role in shaping European regulation and governance. We start with the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), an agency at the heart of the discussion on how science and policy interact in the food sector.
