Dit proefschrift onderzoekt de vooruitgang in cryo-elektronentomografie (cryo-ET) monstervoorbereidingsmethoden om het onderzoek naar cellulaire structuren en processen in hun natuurlijke omgeving te verbeteren. Het onderzoek richt zich op innovaties in vitrificatietechnieken, monsterkwaliteit en workflow verbeteringen, met bijzondere aandacht voor het potentieel van jetvitrificatie als een efficiënter alternatief voor conventionele methoden.
