Maar liefst 72 driedimensionale mijnobjecten zullen samen met gedetailleerde achtergrondinformatie worden gepresenteerd op een nieuwe website, die op 12 december is gelanceerd. Meer dan dertig studenten van de opleiding Media Studies: Digital Cultures aan de Maastrichtse universiteit zijn zo’n anderhalve maand bezig geweest om een gedeelte van het mijnverleden te digitaliseren en een … bod komen, zijn het ontstaan en de winning van steenkool, de rijke mijnwerkerscultuur en het dagelijks leven in een mijnwerkersgezin. Deze objecten werden gecategoriseerd, gefotografeerd en in detail bestudeerd. Het resultaat is een zeer uitgebreide website met informatie over het mijnverleden, gedetailleerde beschrijvingen van objecten en 3D-modellen van maar liefst 72 collectiestukken, die digitaal tot in groot detail online te bestuderen zijn.
