… 11 april 2024 Zoekresultaten On 17 and 18 October 2023, an international committee of experts visited the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASoS) to assess our research for the period 2017-2022. We are required to undergo such a research accreditation every six years. The committee looked at various aspects of our work, including research quality, societal relevance, and viability. They also look at four … Centre Directors, Graduate School Board and GS coordinator, PhD candidates, early career scholars, and a few external stakeholders. In its formal report , the committee noted that it was very impressed by the quality and relevance of research at FASoS. LIMES is aiming to recruit 13 PhD candidates at UM, of which 6 at FASoS. It is centred on the theme of ‘The Hardening and Softening of Borders: Challenges for Europe and the World’. LIMES– a Latin word that highlights the programme’s focus on moveable borders – is coordinated by CERiM. The dynamics of ‘softening’ and ‘hardening’ borders have … threatened by the real and perceived dissolution of borders around them. These changes in societies, governance and culture have affected scientific agendas and require innovative approaches for their analysis. A new generation of interdisciplinary researchers is needed to study the hardening and softening of borders, as well as the interrelationship between such processes.
