Maastricht University's Executive Board and Management Team have agreed to allow a group of ‘observers’ to stay in the FASoS garden for the the second consecutive night. This will take place under the same conditions as last night. This decision follows yet another day of peaceful actions and dialogue with members of the internal university community.
Het College van Bestuur en het Management Team van de Universiteit Maastricht hebben ermee ingestemd dat komende nacht een groep ‘observers’ in de FASoS-tuin kan blijven. Dat gebeurt onder dezelfde voorwaarden als afgelopen nacht. Dit besluit komt na opnieuw een dag van vreedzame acties en dialoog met mensen uit de interne universiteitsgemeenschap.

Today, the notion of public participation receives recognition in academic and political debates, and participatory initiatives enjoy remarkable support from many governments, regulators, and funders. Yet, many challenges remain. Efforts to increase participation have been accompanied by exclusions; preframed agendas of many participation exercises have alienated unfitting perspectives; and the diversity of ways in which publics act on the issues of their concern received limited recognition.
