In this lecture Mona Seif will talk about the current human rights situation in Egypt and her work as a human rights defender. She will go into the role of the authorities in suppressing critical voices and the role of civil society and human rights defenders in standing up and denouncing human rights violations. Additionally, Seif will show what the situation is of individual human rights defenders who are in prison under difficult conditions.
