D. van Kruining

Daan van Kruining is a PhD candidate at the Department of Psychiatry and Neuropsychology of Maastricht University and the PhD-representative of the division Translational Neuroscience of the School of Mental Health and Neuroscience.

 

His research focuses on the lipid metabolism of neuronal diseases. He has a background in the field of psychology and obtained his MSc degree in Fundamental Neuroscience. During this time, he worked in Fukuoka, Japan, at Kyushu University Hospital, where he specialized in neuro-immunology and behavioral research models. Currently, he is investigating the potential of lipids as biomarkers for neurodegenerative diseases by using novel, state-of-the-art, lipid investigation techniques.
