Galileo’s Middle Finger: Science, Activism, and Journalism in the Age of the Internet
Can science make the world a better place? Can a scientist also be an activist? What values should activists and researchers share? How should we think about the relationship between the twin pursuits of justice and of truth? And what is the role of journalists when disputes between activists and researchers break out? In this lecture Alice Dreger will argue that the pursuit of evidence should be understood as the most important ethical imperative of our time.
