N.L. Bassie - van den Elst

One of Nicolle's passions is education in the broadest sense of the word. After having studied at the SBE, she became a lecturer at the General Economics department and lateron the  Organisation and Strategy department. She developed and taught different courses, was involved in the coaching and motivating of students, the teaching of skills and the supervising of students’ dissertations.
After 3.5 years she decided to broaden her perspective and moved to the city she had fallen in love with, Amsterdam. Here she worked both as Project Manager Internal Processes for the Economics Affairs department - the City of Amsterdam in close cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague- , and as a Financial & Management Advisor for the Safety and Security department.
In January 2013 she left Amsterdam to re-migrate to the South. With this move, she also returned to the School of Business and Economics, Organisations and Strategy department. Next to teaching, she coordinated several courses, amongst others the Master course ‘Leadership’, the skills training ‘Communication and Leadership skills’ and the first year course ‘Management of Organisations and Marketing’.
In 2018 she left SBE again and worked as a Financial & Management Advisor at the Social Affairs department City of Maastricht, as a Research Information Officer at the University Library and as a Strategic relation and Process manager at Soapbox.
4.5 years later after leaving, she returned to the SBE. This time as a lecturer at the Marketing and Supply Chain Management department. Once a teacher always a teacher.
